Events such as World War II had just taken place in history and it introduced people, especially artists into new thinking and concepts. Eventually, abstract expressionism art came in around 1940 and it gave art a totally different and radical thinking or perspective for people and artists of that age.
William de Kooning was an artist who did extreme forms of abstract expressionism art. He led the abstract expressionism movement during the time and he wanted to challenge the way people would intend an art piece to be. His Lisbeth’s painting was made up of a couple of simple brushstrokes that portrayed his mood and sensational feelings at that time.
His goal as an artist to challenge and encourage abstract expressionism to people made me think of an advertisement. An ad is intended to change and encourage people to change their ways about something.
